Staycation on Sanibel
We decided to enjoy a staycation yesterday. A quick 20 minutes and we are on Sanibel Island. After 3 hours of lovely sunshine, we headed to dinner at Sea Breeze Cafe at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa.
After a couple rumrunners and taking in the panoramic Gulfview, we ordered a deluxe California roll. Followed by a shrimp cocktail.
Ordering off the fresh catch section, Jeff had the Wahoo with coconut rice and glazed carrots. I had the blackened Mahi-Mahi served over homemade mashed potatoes and asparagus tips.
Restaurant with a view
This spectacular view restaurant offers a breakfast buffet from 7 a.m. – 11 a.m. with everything from oatmeal to a chef’s station of omelets and waffles.
Lunch is from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. You can order a starter like a crab, shrimp and artichoke bruschetta to the “No Woman, No Cry” burger, named after the song by Bob Marley. Prices $12 — $18.
Starters for dinner could be from the Happy Hour menu depending on when you arrive. Happy Hour is from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. There is also a Pre Fixe Dinner option with salad, entree, and dessert for around $20. Under apps, there is Black ‘N’ Blue Mac ‘N’ Cheese to Crab Cakes. The soups and salads are all delicious. We love the Island Breeze salad with kale and strawberries. There are two burgers, followed by a fresh catch selection and, Filet of Beef, Baby Back Ribs, Turkey Tenderloin, Sautéed Chicken, and New York Strip. Each dish is prepared perfectly with sides and veggies.
