Blu Sushi is chic, inventive food, with creative cocktails and a good place to hang, located near Florida Gulf Coast University in the Gulf Coast Town Center. This sexy sushi bar has sleek furniture, retro design and walls reminiscent of the blue sea. The interior is a compliment to the excellent and fresh sushi. After the cocktail entrance, the main attraction is the sushi bar and its creative chefs. You can sit at the sushi if you like and watch the magic of artful sushi right before your eyes. In Blu beginnings, try miso soup, edamame, zulu shrimp (tempura fried shrimp tossed in a special sauce and rolled in sesame seeds), and seaweed salad. Under makisushi rolls — spicy tuna roll dipped in soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. A favorite is the volcano which is krab chopped and mixed with spicy mayo and baked. Another specialty is the Skinny Love, a roll of tuna, salmon, tilapia, smelt, asparagus, scallion wrapped up in seaweed. Sashimi selections — eel, tuna, salmon, conch, yellowtail.
