A new barbecue joint is serving up southern style barbecue and all the fixins near Lindberg and Conway Rd. in Frontenac, St. Louis, Mo. It’s called The Salted Pig. Pull up to this rustic looking place after a long day of shopping, it’s also a great meet me for lunch spot. Dinner is served till 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday till 10 p.m.; and Sunday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On the menu, try bacon hush puppies, brussel sprouts with bacon and carmalized onions, mac and cheese, wings, house chips with pulled pork, white cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce, or bacon wrapped shrimp — all under starters. There’s always chili, soup and a handful of salads for lighter options. Under sammies there is the burgers, pulled chicken or pork, the big dog, brisket all with two sides. Under plates there is a nice variety from meatloaf to grilled chicken, BBQ ribs to oven roasted salmon, shrimp and grits and beef tenderloin. The price range is reasonable. Good for kids, large groups, catering and take out available. Full bar. The Salted Pig is under the Michael Del Pietro Restaurant Group.
