Just a few miles North on I-75 from Cape Coral, there is a quaint well-appointed farmstead called Buckingham Farms. This is more than your average farm. They are known for hydroponic growing techniques which encompasses 50-acres, a country store serving Southwest Florida and a farm-to-table dining experience that is like none other. They offer a variety of locally grown, fresh veggies, fruit, eggs, honey, and more. They also have their own peach trees. Stop by for breakfast and stay for lunch. They are known for their chicken salad. In fact, the owner says it sells out daily. Dinners are available for take out till 6 p.m., call ahead to reserve your order. Entrees include: Chicken Black Beans and Rice, New Orleans Fish and Shrimp, Beef Tenderloin, Farmer’s Quesadilla, Pan Fish. Lunch is served Tues. through Sat. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hours open Tues. through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sat. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday.
The Rustic Barn is available for party rentals, fundraisers, weddings, retreats, cookouts and concerts, culinary demonstrations, wine tastings. The pavilion is lovely with white curtains that drape the open doors, all tables are draped with white linens to the floors and the barn comes alive with candles, white lights, music and servers.
