Brambles Tea Room is definitely worth finding. It is tucked away down a beautifully landscaped brick path just off Fifth Ave. in downtown Naples.
Once inside, your experience begins. There is floral wallpaper, lace tablecloths, the chatter of women and a variety of bone china teacups at each place setting.
My friend Alisa and I ordered the Brambles Celebration. For $28.95 you are served four finger sandwiches: English egg salad on honey wheat, cucumber and cream cheese on country white, Bramble’s chicken salad on oatmeal bread and honey spiral ham on potato bread. It comes with your choice of the scone of the month or Traditional English scone with raisins, Devon clotted cream and strawberry preserve. Your choice of tea (there are 50). Top it off with a glass of sparkling brut, mimosa or wine.
You can also order just the scones, sandwiches or gluten-free with a 24-hour notice.
For a heavier lunch there is Shepherd’s Pie, Ploughman’s Platter, Cornish Pasty – a beef stew served with organic greens, tomato, and cucumbers.
Hot open face croissant sandwiches, quiche and a variety of salads are also on the menu.
Children are welcome to partake in afternoon tea. Mr. Bramble’s tea comes with peanut butter and strawberry preserve finger sandwich, chips, fruit, and tea biscuits. The Brambles Mini Delight is a smaller version of Afternoon Tea for tiny tots. Make sure to ask if Mr. Brambles (teddy bear) can join you for tea.
Lunch and Afternoon Tea is served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Reservations are highly suggested, especially in season.
