George Lukas, owner of the nearby Ceno Grille, and his team of investors have definitely brought a high-end steakhouse to southwest Cape Coral with the opening of 239 Prime Steakhouse.

The menu has a nice selection steaks, seafood and fantastic one-of-a-kind cocktails.

To start I go with my favorite – the Steakhouse Wedge. The baby iceberg is dotted with tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, candied bacon, and pecans and smothered with homemade bleu cheese dressing.

They also have a Caesar, Beefsteak Tomato, and The “239.” There are two soups French Onion and Lobster Bisque.

With all steaks being ala carte it always good to split the salad and then add the ice cold Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail.

Other appetizers to share include Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Jumbo Lump Crab cakes, Escargot Rockefeller, Beef Tartare and Caviar Service at market price.

All steaks are hand cut and start with the 6 oz. or 8 oz. Filet Mignon, 12 oz. NY Strip, 16 oz. Ribeye. If your appetite is more grande you can chose the filet bone-in or go all the way to the 239 Signature 40 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye at $118. They are cooked to perfection, tender, flavorful and juicy.

All steaks can be topped homemade sauces like Veal demi-glace, Maytag bleu cheese butter, Hollandaise, Brandy Green Peppercorn Sauce, or chilled horseradish crema.

And, there is more. You can also add Madeira mushrooms, 1/2 Lobster Tail, Caramelized onion, Lump Oscar, Foie Gras, and Shrimp Scampi.

They also feature a delicious Cheshire Farms Pork Tomahawk with a Maple Bourbon Glaze, apple-fennel chutney and candied pecan. This dish is large and in charge.

We were lucky they featured a Chilean Sea Bass one night and it should definitely make a reappearance. See below.

In addition, they offer Cioppino, Sixty South Salmon, Miso Glazed Grouper, Twin Cold Water Lobster Tails, Lamb Chops, Madeira Chicken and homemade Pappardelle Bolognese.

My favorite sides to share is creamed spinach, chargrilled asparagus with hollandaise and a loaded baked potato.

If you have room for dessert, I recommend the chocolate brownie sundae, definitely shareable.

Open Monday through Saturday starting at 4 p.m. Closed on Sunday.

Reservations recommended. Full bar inside and outside. Outside dining.
