Chef Peppe Profeta has been cooking since the age of 10. His restaurant housed inside a historic residence in Kirkwood called Peppe’s Apt. 2 is all that and more.

The quaint two-story corner restaurant offers a blend of classic Italian and Mediterranean dishes including lamb, pastas, seafood and desserts. It is all served on white tablecloths. Fresh flowers adorn every table.

At Peppe’s you chose the way you want to dine from a theatre 2-course to 10-courses ranging in price from $40 per person to $125 per person.

There is also all carte available. Starting with antipasti like a shrimp cocktail or Carpaccio di Manzo with truffled mushrooms and greens to Lumache all Peppe (snails) in garlic & gorgonzola sauce served inside puff pastry to Mom’s homemade meatballs in a red sauce with polenta fries.

There are 4 salads with my favorite being the Mista Verda, a blend of field greens, goat cheese, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, kalamata olives in a red wine vinaigrette.

First courses include traditional pasta dishes: Linguine, Ravioli, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Cannelloni.

Second courses include Pollo Parmigiana, Filetto Arrosto, Angello Menta, Salmone Grigliato, Vitello alla Milanese, Costola di Vitello, Gamberi Picanti and Pesce del Girono (fresh catch) and pictured above. Pepe’s is known for their Halibut.

Reservations are highly suggested. Located at the southeast corner of S. Geyer Rd. and W Rosehill Ave. Lunch on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Dinner Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.
