Dining at The Capital Grille is like watching a symphony. Everyone has their parts that make the evening crescendo. The table is set to perfection, the wine glasses shine and the staff is very professional. The restaurant runs flawlessly to perfection. Their specialty is dry-aged steaks and more than 350 new and old-world wines.
The Ft. Myers location is at Bell Tower Shops at the Corner of Cypress and South Cleveland Avenue. Hours are Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and lunch Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On the lunch menu try a soup and salad combo – creamy New England Clam Chowder and a lovely Field Greens Salad or Chill Out with a Shrimp Cocktail and Glass of Champagne. For larger appetites check out an Entree Salad. Such as The Capital Grille Cobb with Sliced Tenderloin with mustard dressing, Mini Tenderloin Sandwiches with Mushrooms and Herb Cheese, Seared Salmon, and traditional steakhouse entrees – Bone-in Dry Aged NY/KC Strip, Filet Mignon, and Sushi-Grade Sesame Seared Tuna.
For dinner, fine dining takes time. Start with Fresh Oysters or a beautifully chilled Shrimp Cocktail (5) to a serving. Other favorites include Prosciutto-Wrapped Mozzarella and Pan-Fried Calamari.
Pairing well with your steak is the Wedge with Bleu Cheese and Smoked Bacon. Classic cuts are the headliners for dinner – Dry Aged NY/KC Strip 14 oz and 18 oz, Filet Mignon – 10 oz., and a 22 oz. Bone-In Ribeye. Chef recommendations: Sliced Filet with Onions, Mushrooms and Fig Essence, Seared Tenderloin with Poached Lobster Tails, Veal and Lamp Chops, Roasted Chicken Breast. On the Seafood side try the Seared Citrus Glazed Salmon with Marcona Almonds and Brown Butter, Seared Scallops, Pan-Seared Sea Bass.
All steaks are hand-carved daily by the restaurant’s butcher. The wine list features more than 350 selections in their floor to ceiling wine cellar.
Since your entrees are Ala carte the sides are delicious and trust me, you will have some left to take home. My favorites are the Creamed Spinach and the Au Gratin Potatoes.
If you have room for dessert you have to try the Coconut Cream Pie, made daily from scratch (pictured here).
They offer online ordering, curbside pickup and private dining. Private wine lockers are available. Reservations are a good idea. Evening valet is also available for $10. Dining available in the bar area on a first come, first serve basis. Proper dress is required.
