Cips named for Islander Jim Cipriani on Periwinkle Way, Sanibel had a beautiful atmosphere, especially on the outside patio. We rated the drinks and food about a “C”.
Cips Place Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They offer a Happy Hour food and drink menu.
They have a nice appetizer menu of calamari, peel and eats, truffle french fries, coconut grouper, and a poke martini. There are a half-dozen salad selections, lunch of fish tacos, Mahi sandwich, sloppy joe, pulled pork, and more.
The Mahi sandwich is what two of us ordered for dinner. It looked wonderful but the fish was overcooked and dry. I loved the slaw and homemade chips.
The dinner menu also offers filet mignon, a burger, rigatoni bolognese, fresh catch of the day blackened with a mango rum sauce or pan sauteed with a lobster citrus butter served with pearl couscous and seasonal vegetables.
Prices are moderate from $10 to $28. They offer a children’s menu.
