ReubenIt was a beautiful day so we decided to take a 20 minute drive over to Sanibel Island. With no plans we just decided to wing it. Driving down Periwinkle we saw Periwinkle Shops and remembered there was a food spot in the center. It’s called Blue Giraffe.

And, we were pleasantly surprised.

Family-owned and operated. The Blue Giraffe has a little something for everyone. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily, lunch options and then dinner, also – seven days a week.

Breakfast has everything from eggs Benedict to the Sanibel scramble. Prices are very reasonable. Lunch portions are large and offer island favorites like Fried Chicken BLT, Pork & Slaw, Fish & Chips and a handful of Mexican dishes like quesadillas and more.

Dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Prices range from $15 to $25. Highlights include Pasta Pacifico, Drunken Grouper and Grouper Sunset.

There is a children’s menu available. Patio seating available. Dine-in, curbside pickup and take-out.http://www.bluegirafferestaurant.com
